A Few Ways to Style Your Blouses

So do any of you guys have a lot of blouses in your closet? I have a ton. I’ve gotten a lot of over-sized ones from my brother and whenever I go thrifting I always seem to pick up a couple.

Over the years I’ve learned a few tricks to spruce up these wardrobe staples. Don’t get me wrong. I loooove a classic white blouse and skinny jeans, but sometimes even the basics need a revamp.

I love to dress up my blouses by buttoning the collar to the top and adding a set of pearls. If you wear glasses (especially oversized ones) go ahead and throw them on. Love an east coast preppy vibe.

3 Ways to Transform a Basic Blouse

At my cousin’s wedding she had oversized blouses for all her bridesmaids to wear. What made them so special is that our three-letter monogram was embroidered! Adding a monogram to your favorite blouse makes it feel so personal and special. You can have a monogram professionally stitched for around $7-$15.

3 Ways to Transform a Basic Blouse

Finally, my #1 go-to way to transform a button down is to use a belt to cinch my waist! For the longest time I thought that only girls who were a size O could pull this look off, but that definitely isn’t the case. What’s great is the belt helps create an hourglass silhouette even if you don’t have one. This look is best achieved with an oversized blouse.

So what do you guys think? Will any of you be trying these tricks? If so, please let me know!

Wishing you guys a great weekend! Pretty sure Michael and I are going to go mountain biking again. We found out we can rent these amazing mountain bikes on base for super cheap. There are some awesome trails in the area that we tried out last weekend. So much fun but we were soooo sore. It is a hard workout!

I love these ideas! I’ve tried the first and last and really like them both, but I never would have thought to monogram any of my blouses–how cool and unique!

Michael and I first lived in Mississippi as newlyweds when he was in flight school. This time around he’ll be an instructor and we’ll be able to put some roots down as we’ll be there for at least 3 years. Now we’ve just gotta pack up and hit the road. We’re moving ourselves this time around (full DITY move) and the pandemic is def adding extra flavor to the whole experience. Here we goooo! #ditymove #pandemicmove #gitrdone
