Hello & happy weekend!
V, v into this edgy denim look at the moment. Like many of you, I love super feminine wardrobe pieces. For a while I had to stop myself from buying anything with lace because I had way too much in my closet. At one point when I was home shopping my brother saw me buying ANOTHER white lace top and was like, you have got to stop.
As much fun as it is to deck myself out in tulle/lace, I also LOVE to wear more *badass* pieces and looks.
These are a few of my fav ways to make a look feel a little bit edgier:
- Swap your lip balm, shimmer lipsticks, or glosses for something a little darker and matte! I’ve recently switched to a darker matte liquid lipstick and I was surprised by how dramatic it was.
- I used to think studs on clothing meant those angsty studded belts kids wore in middle school. That is so not the case. Studs are a really fun way to boost your outfit. If you want something subtle, look for them on jackets, clutches, shoes, and even bracelets.
- Ditch your kitten heels for something a little thicker. There’s no doubt a thin stiletto will always be a classic, but this spring expect to see lots of chunky heels! Plus, they are so much more comfortable and easier to walk in. OR. Opt for a boot — bootie heels, Doc Martens, or cowboy boots.
- Opt for a distressed denim instead of a structured look.
I love exploring other styles while staying true to my roots! What are your favorite ways to try out trends? Have a great weekend and thanks for reading!

Love this post! I’ve also recently switched to mattes and was very apprehensive at first, but I’m so glad I did. Adore your block heels as well!
