All the summer feels are happening over here in Mississippi.
For those of you who don’t know, my husband is in the Navy and is currently stationed down here in the South. It’s the first time he’s ever been stationed away from the coast so when I found out I’d be spending our first 8 months of marriage or so in inland Mississippi I was like….
We’ve been bound and determined to make the most of it down here and really soak up the Southern culture, weather, and activities. It reminds me a lot of my childhood in Ohio–lots of open space, kind of a country feel, and not much to do. The trees are HUGE here and everything is so green. The nearest Starbucks and Target are an hour and a half away and there is not really a downtown bar scene.
So what do we do for fun? Haha well. We go hiking literally almost everyday. There is a huge park near us that has amazing trails. We cruise around in our Jeep and look for off-roading trails. We make fun cocktails at home. We hang out with friends. We explore. We eat local BBQ. We go shooting (Michael and I were both superrrr involved in our pistol club at Miami University). And every now and then we drive to our little downtown and take photos for this blog đ

Michael and I were cruising down the street and took a little gravel road to find this huge pasture filled with cattle. It’s funny because it’s just right down the road from our house. In my hometown of Ohio there is a clear distinction between the city limits and the township limits (where livestock can live). But down here it feels like we’re all out in the township so there are little pockets of cattle and horses intermixed between the neighborhoods.
THANK YOU guys so much for reading, it means the world.
