Michael and I found a new hangout spot in Virginia Beach and we are obsessed! We moved to Virginia Beach this past October and while we’re super grateful to be living on the coast, it feels very crowded here. I never thought I needed wide open spaces but I am realizing I most definitely do. We (meaning Michael, myself, and obviously Shadow) have been craving a park-like place that isn’t crowded and has lots of room to run. I’ve been so surprised by the lack of parks here! There are a couple state parks but they cost money, are swampy, and crowded. But hey, I’m just grateful there’s at least that! I grew up in Bellbrook, Ohio and there are tons (and I mean tons) of free high quality parks with loads of running trails, creeks, ponds, you name it.
Virginia Beach has so many historical sites and one of them is the Cape Henry Lighthouse. It’s located on the Fort Story base so it’s not super crowded. At Fort Story there is a huge beachfront that has been empty every time we’ve visited. The sand is nice and compact so I go running on it with Shadow and she is just in heaven. We let her off leash and she sprints down the beach back and forth between Michael and I — I love watching her be so happy.
Side note: We haven’t actually been in the light house yet lolol. We usually have Shadow with us or it’s closed already — one of these days though we will climb the tower!
Omg love these photos. And girl, you are beyond gorg!
