So first off — these pics were taken at the Supreme Court!!! Michael visited me in DC over 4th of July weekend. I live right by the Supreme Court, so we were wandering around and snapped these pics.
I’m on a work retreat in Concord, MA and return to DC on Sunday; it will be my final week there! (For now, at least). I then will return to Ohio. Stay tuned for lots of exciting fashion musings from the cornfields of my small town.
Now, for this outfit situation:
I’m wearing one of my favorite work dresses — a Calvin Klein mint green chiffon popover dress.
Calvin Klein is one of my major GO-TO brands for chic, durable work outfits. They’re typically structured really well and have amazing silhouettes.
Mint is a GREAT color to wear to the office, especially to the summer. It’s fresh and bright, but still is subdued enough for an office environment.
Linking some of my fav mint dresses below for y’all.
The pink blazer I’m wearing is second-hand. There are so many great used blazers at thrift stores, it is really worth the effort to hunt for them.
If you’d rather save the time + hassle of digging through thrift store racks, I’m linking some favs below!
I curled my hair into loose spirals. Then I applied dry shampoo to my roots (even if it was freshly washed, love how this adds texture to the hair!). I then teased my hair and gathered it into a low ponytail. To make it extra polished I left some hair out of the ponytail, and then once it was secured I wrapped the strand of hair around the ponytail holder.
Wrapping your ponytails with hair is an easy way to elevate the whole look, especially for the office.
