Hi guys & happy Friday!
Currently writing this from Mississippi — I’m visiting Michael down here. We shot these pics in a gorgeous local park.
Ugh I am so excited for fall. This is hands down, my FAVORITE SEASON. Obvi, I’m ringing in autumn with this chic flannel look.
I don’t know about you all, but flannel is
practically a uniform for me during the fall and winter. There’s no way I’m going to forgo this cold-weather necessity, however I’m wanting to break the mold of just a plain old flannel shirt.
Of course, there’s nothing wrong with this. But I was craving something a little more dramatic, romantic, and formal. Flannel can really go both ways — casual AND formal (if styled right, that is).
There are a lot of flannel dresses out there right now. An easy way to dress them up is to add a heel or bootie heel, and put your hair in a low pony/bun. You can also turn a large flannel scarf into a shawl, over a plan colored sweater dress (a cream colored or olive colored dress would be gorg).
I found the plaid flannel I’m wearing at a thrift store (per usual). It’s cut in a way so it can be worn as a draping cape or as a poncho. I wore a silk chemise underneath to add another layer of texture.
