Our first week in California!

Well hello! Long time no blog! Okay so I’m going to real quick fill you guys in on the past week.

  1. We left Virginia and drove across the country (coast to coast) in 4 days. It was just Michael,  Shadow, and myself. We found really great hotels each night that allowed dogs. I can’t say it was the most glamorous 4 days of my life, but what an experience to see so many different parts of the country.
  2. We love our San Diego home! This is the first home we have bought. I was a little nervous as we drove up to it for the first time — will it look as good as I remember it? Did the old owners leave it clean or dirty? Etc. We LOVE this house/neighborhood/community.
  3. This blog and my Instagram have been quiet the past week. Sometimes real life just gets in the way. Almost everything is unpacked in our new house but I have a ton of decorating to do. We are getting some cosmetic things done to the house (floors + paint) so I just have to be patient until those get done!
  4.  For the past two months I’ve realized a change was needed with this blog. Specifically, with the name. I chose Jassamine Elaine because I honestly just couldn’t come up with another name! Jassamine was in honor of my grandma, who lived on Jassamine Drive. And Elaine is my middle name. But over the past year I’ve realized it just hasn’t been a perfect fit. People think my name is Jassamine, people don’t know how to pronounce Jassamine, and I’m just not feeling it haha. The rebrand + relaunch will be happening (probably) within the next couple of weeks so stay tuned!

You all have left the SWEETEST comments on my Instagram as you’ve been along with us for this crazy move. I love you all!!!!
I’m sharing all our roadtrip + moving pics below.
