I am SO excited to share with you guys (a few of) our wedding photos!! There are so many things I learned during the wedding process, but probably the most important one is to invest in your photography.

Michael from The Carrs Photography shot all of our wedding photos. Our wedding was a destination wedding in New Orleans over New Years weekend. The wedding party and guests were all in downtown New Orleans for NYE and then our wedding was on Saturday January 2!

The wedding day felt like a complete fairytale. My favorite part of the day was definitely the ceremony. Michael (my husband!!) and I spent a long time picking out our ceremony music. I walked down the aisle to a symphonic version of “Born to Die” (originally by Lana Del Rey). If you are a Lana fan, listen to this symphonic version right now!! It’s stunning.

Also, so thankful Michael and I wrote personal vows to each other. We wrote both of ours in secret and said them to each other for the first time during the ceremony.

The reception was amazing, but it went by just so fast. A couple weeks ago Michael and I were talking and we were like “did all that really happen?” because it becomes a little bit of a blur. We just got our wedding photos this past week and it’s so nice to have such beautiful images to relive our wedding day over and over again.

No wedding would be complete without a couple little hiccups. Michael and the best man went the last day possible to get the marriage license. New Orleans was a destination wedding for us so we couldn’t just stroll down to the office to get the license any time we wanted. Well Michael and the best man (hey, Scott) got to the marriage license place 10 minutes before they were about to close. Long story short, they had to run all over the city getting special wavers and a bunch of other legal paperwork-thankfully they did get the marriage license just in time!

The biggest scare of the wedding day was when the forecast suddenly started to show a 70% chance of rain exactly at the time of our (outdoor!!) ceremony. I was freaking out. As I was getting on the limo bus to go over to the venue it was raining. The wedding coordinators at the venue were so amazing and professional. They had high-tech radar and delayed the ceremony from starting for a few minutes so we would hit a little pocket of no rain. We held the ceremony outside with no rain drops, however it was a little chilly.

Obviously, these aren’t all of our wedding photos-I don’t want to bore you all to tears! You can find a post I wrote about planning our destination wedding HERE.
