Okay so first, you guys probably are well aware that I have an unhealthy obsession with oversized white sweaters.
Is there a rehab for this? I don’t know. I don’t care. I wear them with shorts, over dresses, with jeans, with skirts, over leather pants (like here!), and sometimes nothing but the sweater.
They’re just kind of perfect IMO. They go with everything. They never really go out of style. I love how cozy and delicious they make me feel. In a word, they’re perfect.
And I’m just going to point it out (because I like to keep it real with you guys) that you can totally see my camera clicker in my hands in most of these photos. I shot these myself and I’m still learning how to cleverly mask the clicker. It’s a learning process y’all. Michael (my husband) usually takes ALL my photos. GOD BLESS HIM. I can’t wait till he’s back.
For a little while now I’ve been living alone, for really the first time ever in my life. I had incredible roommates in college and then got married. Going to bed and waking up in an empty house has been a new experience.
With Michael gone, I was really nervous about how lonely it would get. Living alone in a new-ish state, across the country from everyone I knew was definitely intimidating. After the first few days of pure awfulness it’s been a really eye-opening and empowering experience to be in solitude so much.
OBVIOUSLY I miss Michael. But at the same time I kind of feel like I’m on a journey of self awareness and self development. I haven’t gotten to be so selfish with my time or energy in a long time. I’ve worked out more in the past couple of months than I did all fall. When it’s time for dinner, I just worry about myself (don’t worry, Shadow still gets fed).
I think solitude and loneliness can teach us a lot about ourselves. When there’s no one there to influence your decisions or your thoughts, you lead yourself to where you want to go. What do you want to do today? It’s all YOU, baby. What do you think about when you’re alone? Where does your mind go? Periods of isolation can be turned into gifts if we use them as periods of self reflection + growth.
And on that light note (LOL) I’m going to bed. But before I do that I want to fill y’all in on this fun giveaway I’m hosting with some of my blogger friends!
