How delightful are these petite pretzels? They’re super easy to make and disappear so fast. Honestly, I’ve been eating way too many of them…
When I was in high school I really did not like Valentine’s Day. Mostly because I was always single. But nowadays I think it’s pretty awesome. And no, it’s not just because I’m married! I think it’s evolved into a fun weekend no matter if you’re single, dating, married, or ambiguously “talking”. There are so many great movies coming out (hello, Zoolander 2) plus it’s an excuse to make sugary confections, wear a lot of pink & red, and buy yourself/receive flowers.
I threw these chocolate-covered pretzels together so quickly. They aren’t complicated unless you make them complicated! I was about to microwave the candy melts and Michael insisted on melting them via the double broiler method on the stove. So he melted the pink ones his way, and I melted the vanilla ones my way in the microwave. I don’t know what happened, but his turned into a horrible, lumpy, dry mess! We had to take the rest of the fresh pink chips and melt them in the microwave. Moral of the story, keep it simple!
Instead of pure white chocolate chips I used candy melts. Melt the chips, dip the pretzels, and adorn with sprinkles. Voila! That easy ♥
There are so many Vday gift guides out and I keep thinking to myself do people really buy big gifts for their SO’s on this holiday?? I know I’ll be buying Michael a new pair of Smartwool socks because I just cut up a pair of his in order to get a sock round for my sock bun (sorry M!!). Haha. But really if you don’t have a ton of $$ to spend on a gift then a homemade treat, like these petite pretzels, are just perfect.
I hope you had a great weekend! Michael and I traveled to Jackson, Mississippi where I found a couple amazing vintage finds. Head over to my Instagram to check them out!
