It’s been a while since we’ve gone on some kind of outdoor adventure. I’ve been in and out of San Diego for the past couple of months, and Michael’s been swamped at work.
If you’re like me and you’re not a city person, then you know how the constant hubbub of people, traffic, and crowds can wear you down. I literally need the solemn quiet of the country just to feel like myself again.
Recently Michael and I got in the Jeep and drove to one of our favorite dirt road locales here in San Diego. We parked on the side of the road for a second and just listened to the quiet. Ironically enough a rattlesnake was nearby so we heard a very loud HISSING noise from him. I had no idea rattlesnakes were so loud!!
San Diego is packed full of people (compared to my small town that I’m from) — BUT I will say, there are tons of opportunities for peace and quiet in nature. If you know where to look, that is.
Obvi I wore my favorite black boots for our dirt road excursion– my 1460 Doc Martens. They’re icons for a reason.
I paired them with this summer blue mini dress from Cotton On. I only recently discovered Cotton On — they originated in Australia but are now in the USA. Their price points are similar to H&M, but they don’t have as much inventory. IDK what it is, but I am obsessed with their fit. Their dresses are insanely flattering. It’s really refreshing TBH. Also, they have great denim!!
I love how it’s now *a thing* to wear doc martens with mini dresses + shorts + pretty much anything.
The real star of these pics if my Jeep tho 😉 you can see more pics of our Jeep in THIS POST.
Thank y’all so much for reading this blog + following along, it means the world.
