Michael and I are getting settled in our Mississippi home and this is the first photoshoot from our new town! My brother rags on me that I always shoot in front of brick walls (#basic) or in a field. I say, whatever! Our other options are shooting in front of the auto repair shop, flea market, or gas station. Stay tuned, y’all.
Can we talk about how awesome tulle is? My wedding dress was a ball gown with so many layers of tulle I got lost in it (pics HERE). I’ve seen so many tutu inspired skirts lately and after getting one myself I knew it was a match made in heaven.
A few thoughts in order to rock this look:
- These skirts are so super feminine they’re practically begging for a piece of masculinity to balance everything out. A leather jacket, studded bracelet, or black leather heeled booties would do the trick.
- The tulle adds not only movement to your hips, but a lot of volume. Plan to wear a shirt you can tuck-in in order to find your waistline again in all the fabric.
- When you put this skirt on you may experience flashbacks of your childhood ballet classes. A sophisticated button down or heel (or both) will help you feel like the grown up boss you are and not just a girl playing dress up!
- Finally, whip out your heels for this skirt. Ain’t nobody got time for flats.
I want to know your thoughts! Do you like this look? You can find another time I wore this pink tutu HERE.
